LAVERNE SCHOOL DISTRICT PATRONS TO VOTE ON BOND ISSUE WITH NO INCREASE IN TAXES

Voters in the Laverne School District will head to the polls on October 10, 2023, to vote on a pair of bond
issues totaling $1.425 million. Laverne Public Schools is proud to announce this CRITICAL school bond
aimed at supporting educational excellence and providing key enhancements for the benefit of our
students. This initiative comes with the significant advantage of not imposing any new tax increase on
school district patrons. This bond issue will address key identified needs across the district.
There will be two propositions to vote on. Oklahoma law requires school transportation to be separated
into its own proposition.

Proposition #1 is for $480,000 and will be used to fund dire needs district wide. If passed, this
proposition will provide funds to update the district server to enhance our technology network
capabilities. It will allow for district repairs and maintenance, including electrical and lighting, doors,
HVAC, plumbing fixture upgrades and repairs, science lab improvements, patching of deteriorating
Kilmer Stadium concrete and repair/paint of stadium locker rooms and signage. The proposition will also
fund increased access control, surveillance and security in our school buildings and provide revenue to
purchase an agriculture/FFA livestock trailer, band instruments, and Esports upgrades.

Proposition #2 will be a vote for student transportation. Included in this proposal are two activity buses,
route buses, FFA/ag truck, and a suburban.

School bond issues require a 60% supermajority to pass. If passed, the bond will be sold and money
available to the district in April and will not be levied to taxpayers until after the 2019 bond issue is paid
off in June. Therefore, this bond will NOT raise your taxes. We believe that providing a quality
education is fundamental to the success of our students and the long-term growth of our community.

We invite all residents to learn more about the school bond Issue and its implications for our schools
and community. For more information or if you have any questions, please contact Kyndra Allen at
